In effort to be the premier fabricator, SFI has aggressively invested in the best technology and systematically strives to coalesce welding best practices with that technology. On the weld shop floors of SFI, corporate wide, we employ OTC, FANUC, KUKA, and ABB Robotic Welding cells with multiple platform configurations of single, double, and quadruple, robot arm set-ups.  Our Robots allow us the capability of consistent weld quality as expected from the robot process, as well as increased throughput at the lowest cost.

Semi-automatic welding is achieved through the use of Lincoln 455 Power Waves that allow us the flexibility of multiple processes (GMAW, GMAW-P, GTAW, SMAW, FCAW) with multiple material types, yet enables us to lock down the power source in order to maintain the integrity of the Weld Procedure Specifications assigned to the tasks at hand.  This equipment is the best the industry has to offer.

Equipment is only half of the equation.  At SFI, we invest in our most important asset; and that is the human resource.  As a sustaining member of the American Welding Society, and certifications in multiple organizations, such as Canadian Weld Bureau (CWB), DIN/EN European Certification, NAVSEA, and TACOM to name a few;  we know it is critical that our Weld Operators receive constant training in their trade in order to meet and exceed  the standards of the industry.  SFI maintains in house weld expertise through Weld Engineers, Certified Weld Inspectors (CWI), Certified Weld Educators (CWE) and use that expertise to Manage and teach the SFI Weld College.  Weld Excellence is a program SFI has developed which implements, controls, and measures Weld Best Practice as it is exercised on the corporate wide floors of the company.
